STEM outreach
Promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers.
Engineering is so important. It's vital to all of us in our everyday lives.
Renishaw's STEM outreach team brings these clear and positive messages into schools and colleges in Gloucestershire, Bristol and South Wales, and to universities throughout the country.
Our STEM outreach programme is designed to excite, to interest and engage students in a range of engineering activities. Our aim is to provide real insight into the vibrant world of engineering, and careers based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects.
We proactively work with more diverse audiences such as special educational needs and disability (SEND) schools and people from socio-economically disadvantaged areas. This helps us to give young people in our communities access to career options they may never have considered.
STEM Centres
In 2018, supported by the Welsh government, we opened the Miskin STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) Centre to inspire and engage students across South Wales.
In 2023, following on from the success of our Miskin centre, we opened the STEM outreach facility at our New Mills site in Gloucestershire, UK.
Our STEM centres will strengthen our education outreach efforts by providing dedicated spaces for local school children to visit and learn more about STEM subjects and associated careers.
