What does Equality, Diversity & Inclusion mean for Renishaw?

We are dedicated to creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace that inspires and represents our employees, customers, partners and communities.

  • We will create a workplace built on equality; where everyone has equal opportunity to get involved, to be inspired and transform tomorrow together.
  • We will build a workplace that is diverse in thought, that inspires and represents our customers, partners and communities.

Our EDI commitments

We're still early in our journey to fully understand the global diversity of our people. Gathering this information will help us to develop a more inclusive approach to employee engagement and to move forward as a truly global business.

To support this, we've set some bold and ambitious targets. By 2027, we are aiming for 10% of our UK-based Senior Management to be from ethnic minorities and 40% of our Global Senior Management to be women.

This will help us achieve our objective to be better than the UK engineering & manufacturing average on gender pay gap by 2030.

Employee Resource Groups

Our Employee Resource Groups are colleague led groups, which bring together communities of people across all our UK sites, providing the opportunity to share experiences and be allies for one another.
LGBTQIA A space for colleagues to support each other and to ensure they never feel isolated because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
SHINE A space to discuss all conditions under the disability umbrella- physical, hidden disabilities and mental health.
Progress Women's Health A space for all colleagues to provide support and allyship, raise awareness, and share experiences on the topic of women's health.
Neurodiversity A space to share experiences and learn from each other. We also hope to increase our collective understanding of neurodiversity and to support each other as a community of allies, mentors and cheerleaders.

STEM outreach

Our STEM outreach programme aims to inspire and engage students through a variety of engineering activities. By participating, students gain a real insight into the vibrant world of engineering and the exciting careers available in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

We actively collaborate with diverse groups, including special educational needs and disability (SEND) schools and individuals from socio-economically disadvantaged areas. This initiative not only broadens students' horizons but also provides them with access to career opportunities they might not have previously considered. Through hands-on experiences and exposure to real-world applications, students can develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a passion for innovation.

Cultural calendar

We have created a cultural calendar to help us create an inclusive workplace at Renishaw. Across the year, we aim to cover a broad range of themes, religions and cultures. The purpose of the calendar is to bring colleagues together around a variety of topics and to increase awareness of different cultures, religions and experiences.
We continue to work towards becoming a more inclusive company in everything we do as we recognise the value of creating a positive and welcoming space for all.
