Product bulletin: PBC-1217 - AC1 product obsolescence (pdf)
It is Renishaw’s policy to endeavour to support an obsolescent product through RBE and repair for a period of 5 years. After that time continued support is dependant on the availability of parts. The AC1 Interface card was made obsolete in April 2002 and we have supported it with RBE product for the past 6 years. We now have very few replacement units remaining, so soon we will no longer be able to offer an exact replacement. The AC1 Interface card was designed for use with the SP600 range of analogue scanning probes and is based on a 12-bit analogue to digital converter giving 1 μm resolution. It was superseded by the AC2 Interface card which is based on a more accurate 16-bit analogue to digital converter which gives 0.1 μm resolution. The AC2 is available as a standard product.
