All CAD designs created in the session will be printed and sent to the school after the workshop.
Coding with BBC Microbit and McQueen Buggies
The McQueen Buggies are a great addition to the BBC Microbit. The McQueen buggies enable pupils to code their BBC Microbit to move around a maze, which is a great way to introduce an understand and developing algorithms. The workshop will also contain a brief introduction to Python.
Scratch
During our Scratch workshop pupils will create a modern version of Pong with the opportunity to build on their knowledge back at school.
Building circuits
For our circuit building workshop we use kit by Bright Sparks which enables pupils to explore and safely build circuit boards using a variety of components. This is a great workshop to introduce pupils to electronics and circuit boards.
Marble Maze
During the Marble Maze workshop pupils will learn basic woodwork skills to create a marble maze. Pupils will be required to design, assemble and cut wood to create their very own marble maze.
CREST AWARD activities:
Bridge Blunder (CREST award)
Create structures of a bridge to help the understanding of structures of shapes and the impact of their strength. On completing this activity you can claim toward your CREST Superstar credits.
